Artificial intelligence is revolutionizing the way we work, raising concerns about the future of white-collar jobs. Management professor Ethan Mollick of the Wharton School conducted a 30-minute experiment using generative AI tools, including GPT-4, to complete various marketing tasks. The results were described as “superhuman,” showcasing the potential AI has to streamline work processes.
GPT-4’s Impressive Marketing Capabilities
Mollick used Microsoft’s Bing, powered by GPT-4 to promote an educational game he created, the Saturn Parable. Within a short time, the AI tools managed to conduct market research, create a positioning document, write an email campaign, design a website, produce a logo and hero shot graphic, launch a social media campaign, and script and create a video.
Efficient Email Campaign Creation
In under three minutes, GPT-4 generated four emails totaling 1,757 words for the email marketing campaign. This example demonstrates the AI’s impressive speed and efficiency in generating content.
Seamless Website and Graphic Design
GPT-4 was utilized to outline a webpage, including text and graphics, and build the site. Mollick used MidJourney, another generative AI tool, to create the hero image for the website, displaying the versatile capabilities of AI in both web design and graphic production.
AI-Generated Social Media and Video Content
Bing, powered by GPT-4, was tasked with creating a social media campaign, producing posts for five platforms such as Facebook and Twitter. Mollick also used AI tools ElevenLabs and D-id to create a realistic voice and video, respectively, highlighting the expanding range of AI-generated content.
Plugins Enhancing AI Chatbots
OpenAI’s introduction of plugins can further enhance AI chatbots’ abilities by providing them access to more recent and specific data. These plugins have the potential to make AI tools even more efficient and effective in completing various tasks.
