Opera Integrates AI Features into Browsers
Opera announced its plan to integrate generative AI features into two of its desktop browsers, Opera and Opera GX. This makes Opera the second company to do so, following Microsoft’s lead. The integration allows users to create AI-generated content and access GPT-based tools like ChatGPT and ChatSonic directly within the browsers.
Introducing Smart AI Prompts
Smart AI prompts can be accessed directly from the address bar or by highlighting text on a website. These prompts enable users to engage with generative AI services to shorten or explain articles, generate tweets, or request relevant content based on the highlighted text. The prompts are contextual, understanding the page’s context, and will evolve in future releases.
Access to ChatGPT and ChatSonic in Browser’s Sidebar
Opera provides access to ChatGPT and ChatSonic in the browser’s sidebar. Users can utilize these tools for idea generation, summaries, translations, itineraries, and more. ChatSonic also enables image generation.
Features Showcased in a YouTube Video
Opera has posted a video on YouTube demonstrating the new features, offering users a glimpse into the AI integration’s capabilities.https://www.youtube.com/embed/nyE_uLq7rcI
Opera Follows Microsoft’s Lead
Opera is the second browser to integrate generative AI directly, following Microsoft, which recently added AI-powered Bing to the sidebar of Edge and integrated it into the Windows taskbar.
